MORAGA, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's tennis team took No. 49 ranked Saint Mary's to three sets in four of six singles matches but lost, 7-0, to the Gaels on Friday afternoon at the Timothy Korth Tennis Center.
The Hornets (1-7) have lost to six nationally ranked teams this season as they play through their typically tough non-conference schedule.
Sacramento State did get one win on Friday afternoon, a doubles upset. Katharina Knoebl and Jennifer Nguyen knocked off the No. 37 ranked tandem of Catherine Isip and Liz Searl, 8-6, at No. 2 doubles.
The Hornets will put their their 93-match conference winning streak on the line this weekend when they play host to Northern Arizona at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Sacramento State has won 11 consecutive Big Sky regular season and tournament titles.
