Sophie Lohscheidt won her No. 3 doubles match with Katharina Knoebl at California.
BERKELEY, Calif. - The No. 69 Sacramento State women's tennis lost, 7-0, to No. 10 ranked California on Friday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Complex.
The Hornets (9-9, 4-0 Big Sky) struggled to match up with California's five top-100 nationally ranked singles players and two top-40 nationally ranked doubles teams.
Sacramento State dropped all six singles matches but took one of the three doubles matches. Sophomores Katharina Knoebl and Sophie Lohscheidt combined to win, 8-3, over Cal's Tayler Davis and Alice Duranteau.
The Hornets will look to stay undefeated in Big Sky Conference play tomorrow, with a dual against Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Club in Gold River, Calif.
