A former professional on the International Tennis Federation circuit, Avramova-Hunt assists with the day-to-day activities of the team.
Sacramento State has never had a losing record while Avramova-Hunt has been on the staff, while winning at least 17 matches each season. The Hornets have also never lost a Big Sky Conference match in her six seasons while winning league regular season and tournament titles each year as well. One of her pupils has earned Big Sky Conference MVP in each of her six seasons as well.
Avramova-Hunt helped lead the Hornets to a 17-9 mark in 2012 and a 19-8 record last season. In 2011 the Hornets earned their highest national ranking in school history, coming in at No. 29 on the International Tennis Association’s poll. In 2010 the Hornets went 19-7.
In 2009, she helped guide the Hornets to a 19-9 record and their eighth straight conference title. The Hornets, who nearly upset 17th-ranked Michigan in the first round, had five players selected to the all-conference team, highlighted by Katrina Zheltova being named MVP for the third straight year.
In 2008, Sacramento State produced a 21-7 overall record and mowed down Big Sky Conference competition, posting a perfect 8-0 record. Individually, Avramova-Hunt helped coach six players to all-Big Sky honors, including first team honorees Anastassia Lyssenko and Zheltova, second team honoree Karina Jarlkaganova, and honorable mention performers Joyce Martinez Gutierrez, Luba Schifris and Aileen Tsan.
In her first season as an assistant in 2007, despite a roster that included six underclassmen (two freshmen and four sophomores), and only one senior, the Hornets posted a 17-7 overall record, a 7-0 mark in the Big Sky, a conference regular season and tournament championship, and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
A native of Bulgaria, Avramova-Hunt was one of the top ranked junior players in the country. As a professional, she played in European events in both singles and doubles.
