Big Sky Women's Tennis Standings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Playing to clinch on Sunday, Sacramento State fell on the road, 4-0, at Saint Mary's College in Moraga.

The Hornets were playing their third match in the last four days as they took on Saint Mary's on Sunday. The two teams were originally scheduled to face each other back on Feb. 16 but were forced to reschedule due to rain.

Sacramento State dropped the doubles point first before falling in three singles matches as the Gaels clinched, 4-0.

At the time of the clinch, Sacramento State's Jenna Dorian, who leads the team with 11 singles wins this season, was ahead 4-2 in the second set at the No. 2 position. Carolina Chernyetsky (5-6) and Sofi Wicker (2-6, 0-2) also closed the afternoon with unfisnished matches.

The win drops the Hornets to 7-10 overall this season, though the team has won three of its last five matches and seven of its last 10.

Sacramento State remains 5-2 in the Big Sky where they are currently tied for fourth.

The Hornets have two more matches on the road - both against conference opponents - before their next home match against San Jose State on March 17. First up is a Saturday contest at Idaho on the 13th.
