SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's tennis program has signed New Zealand-native Paige Alter to a National Letter of Intent (NLI), the team announced today.

Paige, who graduated from Westlake Girls High School in Northshore, Takapuna, Auckland in 2018, will join the Sacramento State women's tennis team for the fall of the 2019-2020 season.

"I am so happy Paige has decided to join us at Sacramento State," said women's tennis head coach Cami Hubbs of the recent signing. "She comes from a great tennis family in New Zealand and knows what college tennis is all about."

Paige received numerous accolades as a member of the Westlake Tennis Team, including being named the Sports Woman of the Year in 2014. Her team was named the A1 Premier Team of the Year three straight times from 2015-2017. In addition, her team was the A1 National Champions four straight years from 2015 to 2018. They finished as runner ups in 2014.

As an individual, Paige was the Singles Champion in 2014 while finishing as the runner up in both 2015 and 2016. As a doubles player, she clinched the championship title five consecutive years from 2014 through 2018.

In addition to her accolades with Westlake Girls High School, Paige has been a member of the Northcote Tennis Club since 2005.

Her team won the Chelsea Cup in both 2017 and 2018 while Paige won the Club's singles championship those same years. She added more doubles titles, winning the Club's doubles championship and mixed doubles championship in 2017 and 2018.

"I'm excited to see the immediate impact Paige has on the program in both singles and doubles," added Hubbs. "She is a hard worker and we are very lucky to have her."
