SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Women's tennis is officially back this Saturday as the Sacramento State women's tennis team travels down the 99 to take on Fresno State Saturday at Fresno.
The match is the first spring contest for the women's team, who last took the court as a full team in the Stanford ITA Regional tournament in October.
We're really looking forward to getting back out on the courts and kicking off the season in a strong way," said women's tennis head coach Cami Hubbs. "Fresno State is always strong, but we are all expecting big things this season and it all starts this Saturday."
The match begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20. The results will be posted online at hornetsports.com Saturday night and live updates will be available throughout the match on Twitter.

Esquivias is a two-time all-Big Sky selection, named to the first team twice, and has a 30-2 career singles record in Big Sky play. She went 17-6 overall and 10-1 in the Big Sky playing exclusively at No. 1 singles last season for Sacramento State.
- The Hornets will start two true freshmen this weekend - Jenna Dorian and Frana Ugarkovic - as well as one redshirt freshman - Maria Gonzalez.
- The Sacramento State women's tennis team was picked to finish fourth in the Big Sky Conference by the conference's coaches. They received 82 points, but did not receive a first-place vote for the first time in 15 years.
- Sacramento State has not defeated Fresno since the 2012 season, when they beat them 4-3 in Sacramento. Fresno State was taken then last five matches between the two teams.
