WOMEN'S TENNIS BETTERED BY No. 43 LONG BEACH STATE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's tennis team suffered a 6-0 loss to 43rd ranked Long Beach State on Tuesday at Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center. The match was moved indoors due to inclement weather.

The two teams agreed to start with singles play and saw the 49ers win each match. Sophie Lohscheidt was the only Hornet to win a set, pushing Sarah Cantlay into a super tie-break at No. 3 before falling, 6-3, 6-7 (4), 10-7.

One of the more competitive matches came at No. 1 where Rebeca Delgado battled Ebba Unden. The first set went to a tie-breaker where Unden prevailed 7-3 to win the set, 7-6. The freshman won in straight sets with a 6-2 victory in the second set.

Sacramento State will host Hawai'i on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rio Del Oro Racquet Club.
