SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end by the smallest of margins, 4-3, against Nevada on Sunday afternoon at Rio Del Oro RC.

The Hornets (5-8) had won four straight matches, all coming against Big Sky Conference teams, before entering Sunday's non-conference showdown with Nevada, but the Wolf Pack prevailed.

Nevada narrowly claimed the doubles point, with a 9-8 win at No. 1 to seal the deal.

Sacramento State junior Sophie Lohscheidt retired prior to her match at No. 4 singles, giving the Wolf Pack a 2-0 lead before singles play had even begun. The Hornets won three singles matches but couldn't complete the comeback.

Freshman Olivia Boija won her first set at No. 3 singles, but dropped the next two to Sophie Stevens in the clinching match.

Senior Rebeca Delgado continued her hot streak, winning at No. 1 singles for the fifth straight match.
