SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Montana''s Saraid Faville and Tammy Hartung each scored a goal as the Grizzlies shut out the Sacramento State women''s soccer team, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at Hornet Soccer FieldThe Hornets are 1-12-1 overall (0-4 Big Sky) while Montana improved to 7-8 (3-0 Big Sky).
Faville recorded the first goal for the Grizzlies in the 58th minute of play by drawing out junior goalkeeper Amy Seely for the 1-0 advantage. Montana''s Liz Roberts was credited with the assist.
Hartung added her goal in the 71st minute following a pass from teammate Tara Schwager for the final goal of the afternoon.
Seely led the defense along with Stacy Rowell, Kristin Ideson, Marissa Condren and Kelly Law. Rowell was taken out of the game after an injury in the second half and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis. Seely recorded a game-high eight saves as Montana outshot Sacramento State, 15-8.
The Hornets next travel to Idaho State for their fifth conference game of the season on Friday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. PST at Davis Field.
