WOMEN'S SOCCER TIES UTAH STATE, 1-1

LOGAN, Utah -- Sacramento State senior forward Lisa Wrightsman scored her first goal of the 2002 season in the 88th minute as the Horntes tied Utah State in double overtime, 1-1, Friday afternoon at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field. The Hornets are now 0-2-1 while the Aggies record moved to 1-1-1 on the season.

The Aggies got on the scoreboard first as Brigid Turner scored in the 55th minute off an assist from teammate Heather Arnell. Sacramento State pushed the contest into overtime periods with an unassisted goal by Wrightsman with two minutes remaining in regulation.

Hornet goalkeeper Amy Seely recorded a season-high 12 saves to lead the Hornets. Seely, a junior from West Linn, Ore, has now recorded double-figure saves in four matches during her Hornet career. Seely''s recorded a career high 14 saves on Oct. 2, 2001 againt Saint Mary''s.

The Aggies recorded a game-high 16 shots (13 shots on goal) while the Hornets recorded 11 shots with only five on goal.

It marked the second double-overtime contest for the Hornets after a 3-2 double-overtime loss to San Francisco on Sept. 1.

Sacramento State concludes its road trip on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 11:00 a.m. PST, as the Hornets face Wyoming at UW Soccer Stadium.
