WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS SECOND-STRAIGHT DRAW

Savannah Abercrombie tallied her 29th career shutout in the Hornets' scoreless draw.
The Hornets (6-7-2, 2-1-2 Big Sky) earned their second straight draw after not tallying one in the previous 13 games this season while the Bears (6-7-3, 3-1-1) recroded their first draw in league play.
Northern Colorado is now tied with Weber State for first place in the conference while the Hornets are locked up with Portland State in a tie for third. The Vikings own the tiebreaker with a head-to-head win over the Hornets on Sept. 30. The Big Sky Conference Tournament features the top four teams in the league, hosted by the No. 1 seed.
Sacramento State once again had plenty of chances. The Hornets took 23 shots compared to just 10 by the Bears but two attempts in particular nearly gave head coach Randy Dedini's squad a win.
Freshman Kristen Bridges twice had headers off corner kicks beat Northern Colorado keeper Kirstin Salminen only to be cleared from the line by a defender.
The Hornets had an 8-3 edge in corner kicks and were whistled for three more fouls. Salminen made 10 saves for the Bears while Sacramento State keeper Savannah Abercrombie made four saves and extended her school and conference record for shutouts with her 29th clean sheet. She did it on senior day as well, as Sacramento State honored its six graduating seniors before the game.
Sacramento State will be back in action at home this week for a rare Thursday afternoon game against Idaho State at 4 p.m.
