WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS 1-0 AT PACIFIC

8/30/2010

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Pacific on Sunday night at Stagg Stadium. The Hornets fall to 1-3 on the season with the loss while the Tigers improve to 2-1.

After a scoreless first half, the Tigers got on the board just over three minutes into the second period when Laura Hogan put back a rebound from Angelica Figueroa. Pacific, behind a stingy defense, prevented any Hornet offensive attack and held on for the win.

Pacific held a 16-2 advantage in shot attempts with Megan Burg registering both of the Hornet tries. Sacramento State keeper Savannah Abercrombie made four saves in net while Pacific's Jill Medigovich did not record a stop. Pacific had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks and a 13-17 advantage in fouls.

The Hornets will be back in action on September 5 at Long Beach State.
