HORNETS CONCLUDE EXHIBITION SEASON WITH PERFECT MARK FOLLOWING 1-0 TRIUMPH OVER USF

NAVATO, Calif. - The Sacramento State women’s soccer team concluded a flawless exhibition campaign with a 1-0 victory over San Francisco in a match played at San Marin High School in Navato.

After a scoreless first half of play, senior forward Katie McCoy scored on a breakaway from 15 yards out during the second half to give the Hornets the victory.

Sophomore goalie Mandy Trojan made six saves to lead Sacramento State defensively in the shutout.

Sacramento State, the preseason choice to win the Big Sky conference, opens the 2007 regular season with a home contest against Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday, Sept. 2 at Hornet Field.
