Freshman Rebeccah Phillips broke a scoring drought that had lasted 922 minutes, when she scored her first career goal unassisted in the 23rd minute, beating Wildcat goalkeeper Sarah Cortez. It was the Hornets first score in the Big Sky Conference in 2004.

Sacramento State (2-14, 0-4) had a 1-0 lead at halftime, but just two minutes into the second half, Weber State netted the equalizer when Shelli Gough beat Hornet freshman goalkeeper Brittany Auernig.

Natalie Ellis scored the game-winner in the 59th minute.

The Wildcats registered 22 shots on the afternoon, but placed only seven on frame, with Ellis, Gough and Cassidy Williams each recording two shots on goal apiece.

Junior Linda Sanchez led Sacramento State with two shots on goal. Also placing shots on frame was Amanda Gray, Courtney Gorham and Phillips.

Auernig finished the game with a match-high five saves, while Cortez, in her first win, finished the match with four saves.

The Hornets will return to Hornet Soccer Field for their final two matches of the season. Sacramento State will play Montana at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29 and will host Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.
