LA VALLEE'S TWO GOALS LEADS WOMEN’S SOCCER TO 3-1 WIN OVER UC DAVIS

Freshman Lisamarie La Vallee Scored twice in the second half to lead the Sacramento State women’s soccer team to a 3-1 victory over the U.C. Davis Aggies Sunday afternoon at Hornet Soccer Filed. The match gave the Hornets their first victory of the early season.

Sacramento State is now 1-1 on the year while the Aggies dropped to 0-1.

Sita Kuteira put the Aggies ahead 1-0 during the 12th minute of the game with a header off of a corner kick from Melisa Albrecht.

Sacramento State tied the game during the 53rd minute when La Vallee and Sophomore Melissa Condren got together for a long cross from the right side of the field. La Vallee took the pass and placed it into the back of the net past the outstretched arms of Davis goalkeeper Krysten Lizak.

La Vallee scored her second goal of the game to by taking a pass from junior Jeane Kee to put the Hornets up for good 2-1 during the 63rd minute of the game.

Sophomore Kelly Law scored the final goal in the 83rd minute when she received a pass down the center of the field from Freshman Maggie Murphy and then dribbled past the Aggie defense for a clear shot into the bottom left side of the goal.

Sacramento State will Travel to Fresno State to face the bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6, at Bulldog Stadium.
