WOMEN’S SOCCER DROPS A 2-0 CONTEST TO FRESNO STATE

Fresno State scored one goal in the fist half and once more in the second as the Bulldogs defeated the Sacramento State women’s soccer team, 2-0, Saturday evening at Bulldog Stadium.

Sacramento State is now 1-2 on the year while the Bulldogs improved to 2-1.

Fresno State got on the board first when Katr Noslo-Koivisto shot an unassisted goal during the 29th minute of the contest. Noslo-Koivisto recorded the goal from the left wing and placed the shot just inside the post.

The Bulldogs added an insurance goal in the 51st minute when Kortney Lewis scored an unassisted goal.

Sacramento State only managed six shots, while the Bulldogs racked up 20 shots in the winning effort.

Freshmen Lisamarie La Vallee and sophomore Kelly Law each had two shots to lead the squad.

The Hornets will host Oregon at Hornet Soccer Field on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m.
