WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS 2-1 TO CSUB

SEATTLE, Wash. -
The Sacramento State women's soccer team lost 2-1 on Friday afternoon in the first game of the Seattle University Tournament. The Hornets fall to 3-5-1 while Cal State Bakersfield improves to 3-3-3.

Megan Burg got the Horents on the board first with her second goal of the season off a pass from Elece McBride in the 13th minute of the game but could not hold onto the lead.

The Roadrunners tied it up at 1-1 in the 74th minute on Tyler Shirk's third goal of 2010 and then Leanne Tucker scored on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to give CSUB the victory.

The Hornets outshot CSUB 12-10 in the game and had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sacramento State goalkeeper Savannah Abercrombie made five saves in net.

Sacramento State will play host Seattle University at noon on Sunday in the second and final game of the tournament.
