In the second half the Hornets continuing scoring goals, as freshman Paige Tucker executed a perfect give-and-go with Kemper, getting the ball back at the top of the 18 and blasting a left-footed shot into the goal in the 53rd minute, giving the Hornets a 3-0 lead. Sacramento State struck once more in the 79th minute, as freshman Jordan Carlberg sent a lead pass from midfield that found the foot of senior Kayelyn Satkowski, who sent a cross to the right foot of junior Danielle Holloway, who beat a diving Salminen to give the Hornets the 4-0 decision.
Holloway, Tarantino and Tucker each scored their first goals of the season for the Hornets, with Tucker's goal being the first of her career in the Green and Gold. Redshirt freshman Savannah Abercrombie recorded her fifth clean sheet of the season, while stopping five shots.
