SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Freshman goalkeeper Amy Seely was named Big Sky
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after shutting out Pacific
through four periods during the Hornets' 0-0 double-overtime tie at
Hornet Field last Friday, Sept. 8.
The West Linn, Ore., native recorded a game-high seven saves against the
Tigers to keep women's soccer undefeated at 4-0-2. Earlier in the
season, Seely recorded an eight-save shutout against San Jose State to
give the Hornets a 3-0 victory at Spartan Stadium on Aug. 31.
Seely, in her first season with the Hornets after arriving from
Wilsonville High School in Oregon, has been a key factor in the Hornets'
record start to the 2000 season.
A starter in goal for all six games this year, Seely now has two
shutouts and a 1.14 goals-against-average in her first year of
collegiate competition.
The team (4-0-2, 1-0 Big Sky) looks to extend its undefeated streak on
the road as the Hornets play Northern Arizona on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7
p.m. before closing the week at Arizona State on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 7
p.m.
