SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento State played two games over the weekend, tying Chico State 2-2 and falling to Nevada 2-1.In the Hornets’ first game against Chico State, the team took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Amanda Gray and Mandi Siller. Gray struck first, for her second goal of the spring season when she found the end of a cross from Katie McCoy. Siller scored on a volley off a cross from Kelly Novak. Chico State evened things up with two goals in the second half.
In Sacramento State’s second game with Nevada, the Hornets fell 2-1, but Gray got the assist this time when she crossed a ball to Linda Sanchez, who put her shot in the back of the net.
Sacramento State continues its spring season Saturday, April 23 with two games at Pacific. The Hornets will first play the Tigers and then battle Sonoma State in the second game.
