SATKOWSKI AND DRAGOMIR SCORE IN 2-1 WIN OVER NEVADA

3/15/2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Kayelyn Satkowski scored her first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in Sacramento State’s 2-1 win over Nevada.

Satkowski scored in the 65th minute, when midfielder Maggie Murphy dribbled through the midfield and played a ball to the Casa Robles HS graduate. Satkowski, who will begin her second year with Sacramento State in the fall, stuck the ball far post from 18-yards out for the game-winner.

Nevada scored first in the 12th minute, but the Hornets quickly answered. Four minutes later Amber Dragomir evened things up at 1-1 when she scored on a half volley from 15-yards out off a Katie McCoy corner kick.

Goalkeeper Stephanie Shaw, who played for Sacramento State during the 2003 season, returned to the net and held the Wolf Pack scoreless for the final 77 minutes.

The Hornets opened up their spring season under head coach Katie Poynter and assistant coach Randy Dedini.
