3/4/2005

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Randy Dedini was named assistant women’s soccer coach, it was announced today. In 2004, Dedini served as the goalkeeper coach for the Hornets and also assisted with on the field coaching duties.

“Randy was a great addition to the women’s soccer program last fall as a goalkeeper coach,” head coach Katie Poynter said. “I realized very quickly how much he could add to the program full time, and he was the obvious choice for this position. He is a very knowledgable, great teacher of the game and the players respect him very much. He is hard working and very passionate about the game, with extensive coaching and playing experience at the highest levels. Our personalities and intensity will compliment each other very well as a coaching staff.”

Also during that time, Dedini played with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the A-League, winning awards such as team MVP, Iron Man and the century award for breaking the 100-cap mark.
