WOMEN’S SOCCER HEAD COACH KAREN HANKS WILL NOT RETURN FOR 2004 SEASON

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State head women’s soccer coach Karen Hanks has resigned effective immediately, it was announced today. Hanks led the Hornets the past two seasons where she amassed a 9-22-4 overall record.

“I would like to thank Karen for her time at the University,” Sacramento State Athletics Director Terry Wanless said. “We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.”

Hanks came to Sacramento State from Cal State Dominguez Hills. With the Toros, she went 93-36-13 and won four-consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association titles in seven years.

Assistant coach Katie Poynter will assume the responsibilities of the program.
