WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS NEVADA, 2-1, IN DOUBLE OVERTIME

9/21/2003

Junior Jenae Kee tallied two goals including the game winner in the 109th minute to lead the Sacramento State women’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over Nevada, Sunday evening at Mackay Stadium.

Sacramento improved it’s record to 2-4 on the year, and the Wolf Pack dropped to 2-5.

Nevada’s Lauren Kinneman scored the first goal of the contest with an unassisted shot during the 31st minute.

Sacramento State tied the game in the 35th minute when Kee connected on a shot off an assist by junior Jennifer Iha. The goal marked the second time the duo hooked up over the weekend. Iha recorded her first collegiate goal on an assist by Kee in the Hornets’ 3-1 loss to No. 25 Princeton on Friday.

The Hornets ended their season-high three-game losing streak in the 109th minute when Kee connected on her second goal with a penalty kick.

For Kee, a native of Roseville, the goals were the first of her Hornet career. She now leads the squad with seven points (two goals, three assists).

Freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Shaw earned the win after tallying five saves.

Sacramento State will next host Cal State Northridge on Sunday, Sept. 28, at noon. The game is the first of a scheduled doubleheader with the Hornet men’s soccer team.
