Title: Student Assistant/Team Manager
Year: 1st Season

Caitlin Prothe joined the Sacramento State women's soccer staff as the student assistant and team manager in July of 2019, prior to the start of the 2019 season. 

 

Prothe played four seasons for Sacramento State, exhausting her NCAA eligibility at the end of the 2018-19 season. In her four years, she was a two-time First Team all-Big Sky selection as well as a two-time Big Sky all-academic. 

As a senior, Prothe was named team captain prior to the start of the season. She went on to earn the Hornets' 2018 Offensive Player of the Year award and the Team MVP award, as voted on by her teammates. She led the 2018 squad in points and scored a team-leading five goals.

During her junior season, Prothe scored five goals, finishing with 11 total points, third most on the team. She started 16 matches, appearing in 18 total. Following the season, she received the team's annual Coaches Award.

For her career, Prothe appeared in 72 total matches, starting 53 of them. she scored 11 career goals and added two assists while playing primarily in the midfield in all four years. Two of her goals were game-winners, one in each her junior and senior seasons 

Although she has finished competing with the Hornets, Prothe is completing her undergraduate degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and is expected to graduate from Sacramento State in spring 2020. During her final year, she will remain involved with Hornets soccer as a student assistant and team manager.

Prothe's role with the team will include various responsibilities, ranging from training organization to social media to assistant with team travel logistics and more.
