HANSEN AND ZAMOLO EACH SHINE AT NCAA GYMNASTICS REGIONAL

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Sacramento State's Kailey Hansen and Lissa Zamolo closed their 2011 season in strong fashion at the NCAA Corvallis Gymnastics Regional.

Hansen tied for fifth on floor with a career-high tying 9.875. The redshirt freshman received a pair of 9.900s from two of the judges along with a 9.850 and a 9.800. The Ventura, Calif., native was one of six gymnasts to score 9.875. All trailed a four-way tie for first place at 9.900.

Zamolo scored 9.775 to tie for 11th on beam. The event was won by Oregon State's Leslie Mak who scored 9.900. Zamolo's four scores were comprised of a 9.850, 9.800 and two 9.750s.

"Kailey was the last performer in the whole meet and all eyes were on her," Sacramento State head coach Kim Hughes said. "She really ate it up and performed to the crowd.

"Lissa did not have any major deductions in her routine, and I thought, she should have been scored higher. Overall, it was a good night."

Host Oregon State and Nebraska were the two teams to advance to the NCAA Championships. The Beavers scored 197.025 while the Cornhuskers totalled 196.550.
