ZAMOLO AND HANSEN EACH QUALIFY FOR NCAA WEST REGIONAL
3/22/2011

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — For the 18th consecutive season, the Sacramento State gymnastics teams will be represented at the NCAA West Regional as both Lissa Zamolo and Kailey Hansen earned bids as event specialists. The regional will take place at Oregon State on Saturday, March 26, at 4 p.m.
Zamolo will compete on beam and is coming off of her best meet of her career showing. At the Western Athletic Conference Championships last weekend at San Jose State, Zamolo earned first team all-WAC honors on beam after placing second with a career high 9.900. She also set a career best on bars. During the year, the senior had five scores of at least 9.700 and has scored at least 9.850 in her last two routines.
Hansen will be making her regional debut on floor. The redshirt freshman averaged 9.739 in 11 routines in her first season with the Hornets. The Ventura, Calif., native has scored 9.875 three times this year, most recently against Boise State and UC Davis on March 13.
Both gymnasts will rotate with Michigan State at the meet. The Spartans drew olympic order, meaning beam will take place in the fourth rotation and floor will be held in the sixth rotation.
