GYMNASTICS HOLDS ANNUAL FLIP FEST ON SATURDAY NIGHT

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State gymnastics team will make its first competitive appearance of the season, when the team hosts its annual Flip Fest meet on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.
The intrasquad meet will see the Hornets divided into two teams with each competing on all four events. The gold team will consist of Amanda Blauvelt, Cayla Boyce, Emiko Ono, Nicole Meiller, Kailey Hansen, Katie Osaki, Amanda Bieber and Elideth Guerrero. The green team boasts Kaila Kilwein, Mary Peck, Bethany Barrick, Ashley Wooff, Lissa Zamolo, Maddie Montoya, Kaitie Kinser and Chantal Angyal. Stephanie Toubman and Jasmine Lipka will not compete at the meet due to injury/illness.
"This is always a great opportunity to see how our team performs under pressure," head coach Kim Hughes said. "The teams excited to get out of the gym and into a competitive setting."
Sacramento State returns 13 members from last season's team and also adds a six-member freshmen class. The Hornets open the regular season on Friday, Jan. 7, against Alaska Anchorage, Central Michigan and Wisconsin-La Crosse in a four-team meet at the Hornets Nest.
