GYMNASTICS INKS KAILA KILWEIN TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

5/24/2010

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State gymnastics team added a fourth member to its 2010 recruiting class with the signing of Kaila Kilwein to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced today by head coach Kim Hughes.

"Kaila is a legitimate all-around candidate," Hughes said. "She has big skills on all four events and will definitely fill a void on bars where she has a major release combination. She's strong and powerful and really stepped up at nationals where she went 4-for-4."

A native of Maple Valley, Wash., Kilwein was coached by Brad Loan for the past 11 years (10 at Puget Sound Gymnastics and 2010 at Roach Gymnastics). At the most recent national championships, she placed 21st in the level 10 all-around. She also finished third on vault at the regional championships in 2010.

Kilwein joins Maddie Montoya, Eli Guerrero and Kailey Hansen as members of the team's 2010 recruiting class.
