GYMNASTICS SIGNS KAILEY HANSEN TO NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT

4/27/2010

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State gymnastics team added to its 2010 recruiting class with the addition of Kailey Hansen, it was announced today by head coach Kim Hughes. Hansen comes to the Hornets after spending the 2010 season at Washington as a redshirt. She will have four years of eligibility remaining.

"We are very excited to have Kailey join our team," Hughes said. "She brings a lot of energy and power on beam and floor. She also has big skills and competitive ability and should provide a spark to her events.

A native of Ventura, Calif., Hansen competed for Waller's GymJam Academy for her final two club seasons. In 2009, she finished first on floor and also won the all-around at the Level 10 Heart of a Champion meet. She also placed second on floor and third in the all-around at the SoCal State Championships. In 2008, she was the Level 10 state champion on floor and also finished third on beam and fifth on vault.

Prior to competing for GymJam, Hansen was a member of All Olympia in Los Angeles.

Hansen joins Eli Guerrero and Maddie Montoya as part of the 2010 recruiting class. The latter two signed with the team in the fall.
