SACRAMENTO, Calif..-- For the first time in school-history, the

Sacramento State gymnastics program was nationally ranked in the top 30

in the country it was announced Monday.

As of January 22, the Women’s National Rankings, the official rankings

of the NCAA, placed Sacramento State 29th ahead of such schools as

Arizona, North Carolina, North Carolina State and West Virginia.

The Hornets had previously reached the top 50 over a decade ago. The

team is also currently ranked fifth in the West Region ahead of the

University of Washington, Cal State Fullerton and San Jose State.
