SIX GYMNASTS NAMED TO WAC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Six Sacramento State gymnasts were named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic team, it was announced today. Student-athletes were required to be at least a sophomore, have a minimum of a 3.00 grade point average and compete in at least half of their team’s competitions. The Hornets were represented by Trista Condren, Melissa GenoveseNicole GiaoCourtney Hibler, Carrie Kinghorn and Alexis Tsurumoto.

 

Sacramento State’s six selections was tied for second in the conference. Southern Utah had eight gymnasts to lead the way while Utah State matched the Hornet total with six. Cal State Fullerton and San Jose State each had five representatives while Boise State had four.

 

The team will next compete at the NCAA West Regional on Saturday, April 8, at Stanford.
