SAMPSON EARNS SECOND CONSECUTIVE MPSF SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK AWARD

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — For the second consecutive week, Jackie Sampson was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Specialist of the Week, it was announced today.

Last Friday night, Sampson closed out her home career with two impressive performances on Senior Night against 13th-ranked California and UC Davis. The senior scored 9.850 on bars and then added a career high 9.875 on beam to finish second overall.

After missing the first six meets of the season due to injury, Sampson has recorded some of the top scores on the team in the last two weeks. She earned her first MPSF award after finishing first on both bars and beam at Seattle Pacific on Feb. 22. She scored 9.850 on bars and 9.825 on beam in that meet.

Sacramento State will next compete at Washington in a three-team meet which also includes Iowa on Friday night.
