SALT LAKE CITY — The 2018 Sacramento State gymnastics season drew to a close on Saturday afternoon at the Huntsman Center on the campus of the University of Utah. Caitlin Soliwoda scored a season high 39.225 and Annie Juarez added a 39.100 in the all-around while Courtney Soliwoda finished with a 9.800 on beam.
Caitlin Soliwoda started the meet with a bye during the first rotation before scoring 9.750 on bars. The senior then scored 9.850 on beam which tied her season high. After her second bye, Soliwoda finished the meet with a 9.850 on floor and a 9.775 on beam. Overall, her all-around total placed her 11th in the meet. Her beam score tied her for ninth place in the event.
Juarez began the meet on floor with a 9.850 and matched that mark on vault to help her to a strong start. She moved to bars following a bye and received a 9.700. The senior's final score was a 9.700 on beam. Juarez finished in 13th place in the all-around and recorded her third consecutive with a total of at least 39 points. She tied for seventh place on vault.
Courtney Soliwoda tied for 20th on beam with a 9.800. She closed her career scoring 9.8 or better in her final seven meets.
Utah and Cal of the Pac-12 Conference earned the two team berths to the NCAA Championships. The host Utes totaled 197.475 while Cal finished with 196.725 to finished two-tenths ahead of Auburn. Elizabeth Price of Stanford had the top all-around score among non-advancing teams with a four-event score of 39.575. Drew Watson of Auburn and BYU's Jill Van Mierlo tied for the second spot at 39.400.
