USAFA, Colo. — Annie Juarez finished second in the all-around and Caitlin Soliwoda tied for second on vault to lead the Sacramento State gymnastics team on Saturday at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Saturday at Air Force.

The Hornets scored 194.775 to finish in fourth place among the six teams. San Jose State repeated as MPSF champions after scoring 195.975. UC Davis was second at 195.200 while host Air Force scored 194.985 to head Sacramento State by two-tenths to place third.

The team started the meet on beam and scored 48.450 despite having to count a fall. Juarez and Kendra Braida each scored 9.825 to lead the team and tie for 13th in the meet. Lauren Schmeiss was close behind with a 9.800 and Caitlin Soliwoda added a 9.775.

After a bye, Sacramento State scored 48.725 on floor. Jennifer Brenner paced the team with a 9.850 and Juarez added a 9.825 to tie for fourth and eighth, respectively. The team also counted a 9.750 from Schmeiss, a 9.700 from Carly Pratt and a 9.600 from Caitlin Soliwoda.

The Hornets rotated to vault for its third event and totaled 48.700, counting five scores between 9.600 and 9.825. Alexis Belkoff went second in the lineup and finished with a 9.800 to to tie for fourth place. Three vaulters later, Caitlin Soliwoda scored 9.825 to tie for second place. Her score only trailed SJSU's Chelsey Andrada who received a 9.875.

On bars, the team finished with a 48.900 —it's highest total of the meet on any event. Senior Courteney Ng opened the lineup with a season best 9.800 and saw that score matched by Caitlin Soliwoda. Juarez and Courtney Soliwoda each received a 9.775 and Jordyn Brent tallied a 9.750 to account for the team score. Sacramento State ended the meet by allowing senior Lauren Rice to anchor the lineup for her first competitive routine since injuring her ankle in the second meet of the season.

Juarez scored 39.200 in the all-around and secured her berth to the NCAA Regional. The senior scored 9.825 on beam and floor and 9.775 on vault and bars to reach her total. Those scores placed her second in the meet behind San Jose State's Kaitlin Won (39.225). Caitlin Soliwoda was fifth with a total of 39.000 and will also be advancing to an NCAA Regional as an all-arounder.

Earlier this weekend, the MPSF announced the all-conference honorees. The top gymnast from each school in each event was an automatic selection, determined by her regional qualifying score from March 19. Six additional gymnasts per event were chosen as at-large selections, based on the next highest regional qualifying scores, regardless of team. The top-six gymnasts per event were then named first team all-conference honorees. The remaining student- athletes were named to the second team.

Caitlin Soliwoda was named first team on bars, beam and the all-around and took home second team accolades on vault and beam. Annie Juarez joined her on the first team in the all-around and on bars. Juarez was also placed on the first team for floor and the second team on vault.

Freshman Jordyn Brent and senior Courtney Soliwoda rounded out the first team selections for the team. Brent earned the honor on bars while Soliwoda was recognized on bars.

Alexis Belkoff (vault), Courtney Soliwoda (bars), Jackie Sampson (bars) and Jennifer Brenner (floor) were each named to the second team.
