NACG/W HONORS GYMNASTICS TEAM AND NINE GYMNASTS FOR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State gymnastics team earned a 3.406 grade point average during the 2016-17 academic year to earn recognition from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women and rank among the top 40 teams in the country.

Individually, nine Hornets were also honored by the NACG/W for having a GPA of at least 3.5. That group is comprised of Alexis Belkoff, Emily Bolton, Tara Catour, Annie Juarez, Julia Konner, Courteney Ng, Carly Pratt, Lauren Schmeiss and Caitlin Soliwoda.

Earlier this year, eight gymnasts earned all-academic honors from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Among those who earned the award from both organizations were Konner, Ng and Schmeiss. To earn the MPSF honor a gymnast must have a 3.20 GPA, competed for one year with her team, and appeared in over 50 percent of the team's meets.
