FOUR GYMNASTS HEAD TO NCAA SEATTLE REGIONAL FOR SATURDAY MEET

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Four members of the Sacramento State gymnastics team will continue their 2017 season at the NCAA Seattle Regional on Saturday, April 1, at 6 p.m. PDT. The Hornets will be represented by all-arounders Caitlin Soliwoda and Lauren Rice and individual event specialists Courtney Soliwoda and Julia Konner.

The meet will consist of six teams along with four individual all-arounders and two individual event specialists on each event. The six teams are comprised of No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 12 Kentucky, No. 13 Washington, No. 24 Utah State, No. 32 Stanford and No. 34 BYU. Caitlin Soliwoda will rotate with Kentucky, Rice will be paired with Washington and the two specialists will be with BYU.

The top two teams and the top two all-arounders outside of those two squads will advance to the NCAA Championships. Any gymnast who finishes first in an event will also earn a berth to the NCAA Championships.

REGIONAL REHASH
Sacramento State has had at least one NCAA Regional qualifier each year. The Hornets qualified as a team in 1999 and then again from 2006-08. In 2014, Kalliah McCartney made history becoming the first Sacramento State gymnast to advance to the NCAA Championships after she earned one of two at-large berths in the all-around.

MPSF CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
