DENTON, Texas — Led by a career high from Caitlin Soliwoda in the all-around, the Sacramento State gymnastics team scored its best mark of the season on Sunday in a four-team meet at Texas Woman's. The Hornets totaled 195.550 to place second behind the host Pioneers (196.000). Western Michigan was third at 195.375 and Penn State finished fourth at 194.550. Sacramento State's total was the seventh best in school history.

Individually, Caitlin Soliwoda moved into a tie for ninth place in the Hornet record book with an all-around score of 39.325. She finished in a four way tie for first place on floor with a career high of 9.875. She also was second on bars with a 9.875 and tied for second on vault after receiving a 9.825. Both scores set season high marks for the junior. Soliwoda tied for 16th place on beam at 9.750 and ended the day leading the Hornets in three of the four events.

Sacramento State set season highs in a pair of events. The Hornets totaled 49.075 on bars and 49.025 on floor. On bars, Courtney Soliwoda and Lauren Rice tied for fifth place with each receiving a 9.825. Megan Kyle and Courteney Ng added 9.775s to tie for 11th and complete the team score.

Tara Catour and Jullia Konner each scored 9.800 to tie for eighth on floor while Rice and Jennifer Brenner added 9.775s. All six members of the floor lineup scored at least 9.750.

The Hornets added scores of 48.825 on vault and 48.625 on beam. Julia Konner ranked second on the team and tied for seventh with a 9.775. Megan Kyle and Rice tied for 10th at 9.750 and Courtney Soliwoda and Alexis Belkoff each scored 9.725 to tie for 13th.

Courtney Soliwoda led the team and tied for seventh overall with a career-high tying 9.825. Lauren Schmeiss and Caitlin Soliwoda each received a 9.750 to tie for 16th while Julia Konner (9.725) and Rice (9.575) rounded out the scores toward the team total.

Sacramento State will next compete at UC Davis on Friday, Feb. 24, in a four team meet which will also include San Jose State and Seattle Pacific.
