    GYMNASTICS SCORES 195.550 FOR SEASON HIGH AT TEXAS WOMAN'S Led by a career high from Caitlin Soliwoda in the all-around, the Sacramento State gymnastics team scored its best mark of the season on Sunday in a four-team meet at Texas Woman’s. The Hornets totaled 195.550 to place second behind the host Pioneers (196.000). Western Michigan was third at 195.375 and Penn State finished fourth at 194.550. Sacramento State’s total was the seventh best in school history.

    GYMNASTICS TRAVELS TO TEXAS WOMAN'S FOR FOUR-TEAM MEET ON SUNDAY The Sacramento State gymnastics will make a rare trip to the Lone Star State as the Hornets will compete in a four-team meet at Texas Woman’s on Sunday, Feb. 19. The meet, which will also include Penn State and Western Michigan, will begin at 11 a.m. PST.

    SOLIWODA'S CAREER HIGH ALL-AROUND PROPELS GYMNASTICS TO VICTORY Caitlin Soliwoda scored a career high 39.150 to win the all-around and also earned at least a share of two other individual event tiles to lead the Sacramento State gymnastics team to a 194.400-190.900 victory over Alaska Anchorage on Friday night at The Nest.

    GYMNASTICS AT HOME AGAINST ALASKA ANCHORAGE ON FRIDAY NIGHT The Sacramento State gymnastics team returns to The Nest to host Alaska Anchorage on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. The meet will serve as the team’s “Think Pink” night as the Hornets will wear commemorative leotards in an effort to raise awareness for breast cancer.

    GYMNASTICS TOPPED BY UC DAVIS IN CAUSEWAY DUAL The Sacramento State gymnastics team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season as it fell to UC Davis 194.925-193.050 on Sunday afternoon at The Pavilion. The Hornets fell to 5-2 on the year with its only other loss coming against 15th-ranked Cal at the NorCal Classic.

    CAITLIN SOLIWODA, ANNIE JUAREZ GARNER MPSF WEEKLY HONORS Sacramento State gymnasts Caitlin Soliwoda and Annie Juarez were each recognized by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for their efforts in the Hornets’ victory at Air Force on Jan. 21. Soliwoda was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week while Juarez was the Specialist of the Week.

    GYMNASTICS RECORDS ROAD WIN AT AIR FORCE The 24th-ranked Sacramento State gymnastics team improved to 5-1 on the season following a 193.150-191.475 victory over Air Force on Saturday at Cadet Gym. The Hornets scored 48.400 or better in three events but were held back by a shaky performance on floor which resulted in a 47.250.

    JULIA KONNER NAMED MPSF GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Sacramento State’s Julia Konner was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week following her performances in a pair of meets. The honor is the first for Konner during her career.

    GYMNASTICS VICTORIOUS AGAINST SAN JOSE STATE IN HOME OPENER Sacramento State gymnasts accounted for at least a share of all four individual event titles as well as the all-around in the team’s 194.400-192.725 victory over San Jose State on Friday night at The Nest. Following a 194.475 at the NorCal Classic on Monday, the Hornets have now surpassed 194.400 in their initial two meets for the first time in school history.

    GYMNASTICS SETS RECORD, PLACES SECOND AT NORCAL CLASSIC The Sacramento State gymnastics team started its 2017 season in record breaking fashion, totaling 194.475 to place second at the NorCal Classic on Monday night at Cal. The score was the highest by a Hornet team in a season-opener, breaking the mark of 194.400 which came at the NorCal Classic in The Nest in 2014.

Along with Cal and the Hornets, the meet will also include Stanford, San Jose State and UC Davis. The meet will begin at 7 p.m.

    GYMNASTICS INKS THREE TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT Sacramento State head gymnastics coach Randy Solorio announced the signings of Mariah York, Jordyn Brent and Courtnee Marquez to National Letters of Intent. All three will enroll at the University as freshmen in the fall of 2017.

    SOLORIO SHEDS INTERIM TAG, NAMED HEAD GYMNASTICS COACH Randy Solorio has been named the head gymnastics coach at Sacramento State, it was announced by Director of Athletics Bill Macriss. Solorio served as the interim head coach during the 2016 season after nearly three decades as an assistant.
