SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State scored a season high 194.900 but finished third as No. 26 California and No. 28 San Jose State also posted their highest scores of the year on Friday night at The Nest. The Golden Bears won the meet with a total of 196.725 while the Spartans came in second at 195.725.

The Hornets opened the meet on vault with a total of 48.725 but trailed both teams after the first rotation. Freshman Jesse Williams scored 9.800 and finished tied for seventh to pace Sacramento State. Kalliah McCartney tied for ninth at 9.775 and Kailey Hansen tied for 11th with a 9.750.

During that first rotation, Cal scored 49.300 on floor with a 9.925 from Serena Leong and SJSU received a season high 48.450 on bars.

The second rotation took Sacramento State to bars where the team scored 48.450. McCartney and Kaila Kilwein each matched their career highs on the event with a 9.825 to tie for seventh place. Junior Kayla Wonderly scored a career best 9.775 to tie for 12th.

Cal kept rolling with another 48.300 on vault with Leong again leading the way with a 9.925.

On beam, senior Kailey Hansen scored 9.800 to help the Hornets to a 48.650 on the event. Hansen's score tied her for third overall. Cassie Benning was seventh with a 9.750 and Williams and McCartney tied for ninth at 9.725.

The Hornets ended the meet on floor with a season high 49.075. Senior Katie Osaki opened the rotation with a 9.800 before Maddie Montoya scored a career best 9.675. Williams also set a personal best with 9.850 before Hansen tied her career mark with a 9.900. Dallas Smith completed the lineup with a 9.850. Hansen tied for second overall and Williams tied for fourth.

Williams had the high mark for the Hornets in the all-around with a four-event total of 38.975 which placed her sixth. Cal's Jessica Howe scored 39.325 to edge SJSU's Cassandra Harrison (39.300) for the top spot.

Sacramento State will next compete at California on Feb. 22 in a three-team meet which also includes Washington.
