JULIE SHUTLER EARNS FIRST TEAM ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE HONORS

OGDEN, Utah — Sophomore Julie Shutler was one of five women's golfers named first team all-Big Sky Conference in 2010.

The Big Sky uses the Golfstat rankings to determine the all-conference teams where Shutler is ranked 279th in Div. I. The top five players in the conference earn first team accolades while the sixth through 10th are named to the second team.

Shutler enters next week's Big Sky Championships with a stroke average of 76.45 in 23 rounds. The Manteca, Calif., native has three top-10 finishes this season and has carded five rounds of 72 or better in her eight tournaments. Shutler also established the school record for 36-hole and 54-hole tournaments. At the Cal Poly Invitational, she shot 147 for the 36-hole record and shot 214 at the Chip-N Club Invitational for the 54-hole mark. She is also one of just two Sacramento State golfers to be in the lineup for every tournament this season.

Northern Arizona dominated the all-conference teams with six of the 10 selections. Freshman Stephanie Kim was the Big Sky MVP and Freshman of the Year with a ranking of 228.

Shutler was the lone Hornet to earn all-Big Sky honors in 2010 but is one of four on the Sacramento State. roster. Last year, Brooke Green and Justine Chen were each on the first team while Samantha Saffold was on the second.
