WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES PLAY AT MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGIATE

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Sacramento State women's golf team closed out its final round of the Mountain View Collegiate with a total of 316 on Saturday. The Hornets finished the 54-hole tournament in 17th place.
On Saturday, senior Annie Becker and junior Brooke Green led the way for Sacramento State as each shot 78. The team also counted a 79 from Kercia Brakel and an 81 from Samantha Saffold.
Sophomore Julie Shutler finished with the best total among the five, shooting 70-78-84-232 to tie for 52nd place. Brakel tied for 70th at 75-81-79-235 while Green shot 78-80-78-236 to tie for 73rd.
Becker was two strokes back at 76-84-78-238 to tie for 78th while Saffold tied for 90th at 82-83-81-246.
Colorado State and Texas Tech each finished with a total of 890. However the Rams were awarded the team title based on the second tie-breaker. After both teams' fifth scores were identical the fourth score favored CSU.
Texas Tech's Gabriella Dominguez (71-76-72-219) and Missouri's Julia Potter (73-73-73-219) were co-medalists.
