LeMASTER LEADS WOMEN'S GOLF AT KITAHARA FRESNO STATE INVITATIONAL

FRESNO, Calif. — Senior Heather LeMaster carded a 74 on Tuesday to lead the Sacramento State women's golf team at the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational. Longcrier finished tied for 13th place while the Hornets finished tied for 12th.
Tulsa, which entered the tournament ranked 31st in the latest NCAA poll, won the team title with a two-round total of 590. The Golden Hurricanes were followed by UC Davis (593), Kansas (596), San Francisco (597) and UC Irvine (603) in the top five.
LeMaster posted the lowest round for the Hornets during both days of play. On Tuesday, she opened on the 10th tee with three straight bogeys put played even par for the next six holes and made the turn at 39. On the front side, the Sacramento native recorded five consecutive pars before birdeying the par-5 sixth hole. She then concluded play with three more pars.
Sophomore Brooke Green had the second best score on the team with an 81-77-158 to tie for 50th place. She was followed by Kim Coppin (t-62, 78-82-160), Erica Yoshino (t-65, 82-79-161) and Samantha Saffold (t-65, 77-84-161).
Fresno State's Taylor Siebert was the medalist. Siebert finished even at 73-71-144 and was one stroke better than UC Davis' Jee Park, Kansas' Emily Powers, and Hawaii's Corie Hou.
Sacramento State will next be in action on March 10 and the UNLV Spring Invitational.
