KIM COPPIN NAMED BIG SKY GOLFER OF THE WEEK

OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State junior Kim Coppin and Eastern Washington sophomore Chloe Nelson have been named co-Big Sky Conference Golfers of the Week.
Coppin, a junior from Sheldon High School, tied for third and helped lead the Hornets to the team title at the 20-team Montana State Bobcat Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz. Coppin shot rounds of 74, 79, and 73 for a 10-over-par 226. Sacramento State shot a 915 and won a tiebreaker with Cal Poly to win the team title.
Nelson tied for 29th in a tough field at the UNLV Spring Invitational. Nelson fired a final-round 3-under-par 69. She had a 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second to finish with a 5-over-par 221.

The honor is the first for Coppin this season and she becomes the second Hornet to earn the honor during the spring season. Senior Margaux Sheehan was named Big Sky Golfer of the Week on March 1.

Sacramento State will next compete at the Anteater Invitational beginning on March 26.
