SHEEHAN NAMED BIG SKY GOLFER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME THIS YEAR

OGDEN, Utah --- Sacramento State junior Margaux Sheehan has been selected the Big Sky Conference Golfer of the Week after finishing tied for fifth at the Cal Poly Invitational.

Sheehan, from Anchorage, Alaska, fired rounds of 73-76 to finish with a 36-hole total of 149. The tournament was played Monday and Tuesday at the par-73, 6,019-yard Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, Calif.

Sheehan helped Sacramento State to a tie for fifth place in the team race. The Hornets finished with a 621. UC Davis won the tournament with a 594. Northern Arizona was third with a 618. Idaho State took 10th at 663.

This is the second time this season Sheehan has claimed Golfer of the Week honors. She won it on Oct. 19 after winning the Lady Aztec Fall Classic. She set a 54-hole school record with a 217 at that tournament and also broke the school record with a 68 in the first round.

Through four fall tournaments, Sheehan leads the team with an average of 76.4.
