SACRAMENTO, Calif. --- The Sacramento State women’s golf bettered its first-round score by one stroke to finish in a tie for fifth place at the Cal Poly Invitational on Tuesday. The Hornets shot 310 in the second round and finished the event at 621 in a tie with host Cal Poly.UC Davis won the team title after shooting 297-297-594. The Aggies were led by Danielle Cvitanov who was the medalist at 70-73-143. Santa Clara (302-310-612), Northern Arizona (312-306-618) and Northern Colorado (312-308-620) rounded out the top four.
Individually for Sacramento State, Jennifer Parkes led the team on Tuesday after carding a 75. Parkes finished in a tie for 14th place at 79-75-154. Margaux Sheehan had the best overall finish, tying for fifth place with 73-76-149. Kim Coppin tied for 27th at 82-78-160) while Erica Yoshino (81-81-162) and Emily Longcrier (78-84-162) tied for 35th.
The event marked the final tournament for the team during the fall season.
