Individually, Margaux Sheehan fired a 68 in the first round to tie Sarah Kuykendall for the school record. Both the previous team (297) and individual records came in the third round of last year’s Big Sky Conference championship.

Host San Diego State (300-305-605) overcame a seven-stroke deficit following the first round and is currently two strokes ahead of the Hornets. Northern Arizona sits in third after shooting 304-305-609 and Montana is fourth at 306-306-612.

Sheehan paced the team in the first round with 68. In that round, Sacramento State did not count a score higher than 77 to take its early lead. Sheehan came back in the afternoon with a 75 and sits one stroke ahead of Northern Arizona’s Ali Carter (72-72-144).

Erica Yoshino is tied for 25th after shooting 80-75-155. Emily Longcrier and Heather LeMaster are both tied for 27th. Longcrier had rounds of 76 and 80 while LeMaster shot 72 and 84. Kim Coppin rounded out the lineup at 77-85-162 to tie for 41st.

The tournament concludes with the third and final round at the Auld Course on Tuesday.
