ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. --- The Sacramento State women’s golf team shot rounds of 327 and 333 to finish in 12th place at the Cal Poly Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course. The host Mustangs won the event with a team score of 619.Sacramento State was led by Margaux Sheehan and Jennifer Parkes who each tied for 31st with a two-round total of 162. Sheehan shot 80 on Monday and followed up with 82 on Tuesday. Parkes fired back-to-back rounds of 81. Sarah Kuykendall tied for 41st with a total of 83-82-165 while Chante Markley (83-89-172) and Heather LeMaster (84-88-172) tied for 59th.
Santa Clara’s Samantha Trask was the medalist. Trask shot consecutive rounds of 73 to finish five strokes better than Cal Poly''s Rebecca Norris (75-76-151) and Cal State Northridge’s Adrenne Cipparone (76-75-151).
The event was the final tournament for the Hornets during the fall portion of their schedule. The team will next compete at the Montana State Tournament from March 7-9 in Phoenix, Ariz.
