NIPOMO, Calif. --- Junior Courtney Cotter tied for sixth place to help lead the Sacramento State women''s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Cal Poly Invitational. The two-round tournament was held at the Blacklake Golf Resort.Cotter shot rounds of 79 and 83 to finish at 162. She was six strokes behind Kyle Safford of Cal State San Marcos who was the medalist.
Host Cal Poly won the team title with a score of 648. UC Riverside was second at 651 while Wyoming placed third at 654. Sacramento State edged Idaho State, 665-667, to finish fourth.
Sophomores Margaux Sheehan and Jennifer Parkes also finished in the top 20, tying for 12th and 19th, respectively. Sheehan shot 80-84-164 while Parkes shot 87-82-169.
The event marked the final tournament for the women''s team during the fall season.
