SOMIS, Calif.- Led by three top 10 finishes, the Sacramento State

women's golf team placed third at the Matador Spring Classic hosted

by Cal State Northridge. The two-round tournament, which was held on

April 9 and 10, was played at the Saticoy Country Club.

Portland State shot rounds of 331 and 326 to finish first in the

five-team field. Cal State Northridge was second at 661 while the

Hornets fired a 665.

The Matadors' Kelley Carson claimed the individual title after

shooting rounds of 76 and 78 for a total of 154. Megan Radonich of

the University of Portland was second, three strokes behind the lead.

The Hornets were led by Erin Brannigan, who tied for fifth at 162.

Denise Larson (164) finished in seventh and Christy Ferrero tied for

ninth with a 170.

Sacramento State will conclude its season at the Big Sky

Championships on April 23-24.
